Beefsteak Tomato

lycopersicon esulentum – Annual
Height 1.5 m x 50 cm

Plant in full sun in rich moist soil – companion plant basil.

Plants can be buried up to their first pair of true leaves to encourage greater root growth. Regular watering is vital, but water the roots not the leaves.

If grown under cover, encourage pollination and fruit set by tapping the stem from time to time.

Needs staking, pinch laterals, mulch and protect from wind.
